Hey guys, back again with a team from Houston regionals. I went 5-3 and finished in the Top 64, but I felt like I could have gone much farther had the event been best of three rather than best of one. Regardless, I figured I'd share it. I'm a bit busy catching up from the weekend and a little under the weather so I'm not going to go into huge detail on the Pokemon, but here's the sets and spreads I used.

Dodrio Cup Teams
Hey guys, wanted to go ahead and post all of the teams I used for Dodrio Cup. I had a ton of fun with this tournament, and teaming with Zach and Luke made it even more fun. I'll also put in a bit of information on some of the techs and reasonings behind certain Pokemon on the teams. Enjoy!
Vs Swanner (W)
Scrafty / Cresselia / Ferrothorn / Camerupt / Gastrodon / Jellicent
I knew Swanner would be using his regionals team from earlier in the day (we played live at Madison Regionals in a hotel room), so I figured the best straight up answer to the CharY/Venu/Cressperior archetype was probably Camerupt Trick Room, so I took that concept and ran with it. Some specific techs included Sub Camerupt, Smack Down Scrafty, Sunny Day Safety Goggles Cress, Sub Ferrothorn.
Vs Zelda (W)
Kangaskhan / Clefairy / Arcanine / Zapdos / Sylveon / Breloom
Going into this match, Zelda hadn't used a ton of different teams over the course of the season, consistently picking between a pool of 10-12 Pokemon. This made creating this team not only a bit easier, but also a lot of fun with some crazy techs, some of which include: Protect Kangaskhan, Band ESpeed Arcanine, HP Grass/Drill Peck Zapdos, and Hyper Voice/Hyper Beam/Sleep Talk Sylveon.
Vs Biosci (W)
Charizard-Y / Ferrothorn / Suicune / Sylveon / Excadrill / Conkeldurr
William was a match I was really excited for, and this was a really fun team to build as well. William had been using a Gardevoir / Zapdos / Amoonguss core for a large portion of the season, so I tried to best counter it using Charizard/Ferrothorn/Sylveon. Excadrill looks weird on this team, but William had been using Tyranitar as of late, so I added Excadrill as a Team Preview Pokemon to try to dissuade him from bringing TTar. Interesting sets: Heat Wave/Overheat/Sub Charizard, Sub Ferrothorn, Assault Vest Suicune, Safety Goggles Wide Guard Conkeldurr.
Vs KusamochiVGC (W)
Whimsicott / Audino / Sableye / Muk / Pidgeot / Landorus-T
Since the finals were relatively inconsequential, I thought it might be fun to bring Luke's Muk team to the finals, with a side of another of his Australian tricks in Pidgeot/Landorus. Pidgeot has Tailwind, while Landorus goes for Role Play on Pidgeot and proceeds to use Fissure. Muk team was incredibly fun to use.
Thanks for reading, and see you in the Nugget Bridge Invitational!

VGC 2015 Nationals Team
Hey everyone, here's the team I used at the 2015 US National Championships. I really enjoyed this team a lot, but given the chance I would definitely make some adjustments. It was made the Wednesday before the competition and I had 0 practice games with it, and this is definitely something to take note of for next year. I felt that with more practice I likely could have done better, since the losses I suffered were all due to me playing poorly rather than flaws in the team. Enjoy!
